SHC Patient, Apr 2020

Dr. Thornton is a very knowledgeable caring doctor. She has been accessible when I need to see or talk to her I am fortunate to have her as my primary care doctor.

SHC Patient, Apr 2020

Dr Thornton was extremely kind and understanding of my concerns. She diagnosed (correctly) that I was only having allergy symptoms, but given my reluctance, she gave me good guidelines for self-isolation, and other symptoms to watch out for. She also agreed to follow up the next day, should my symptoms point to a different direction. I really appreciated her willingness to listen, and explain the possibilities to me.

SHC Patient, Mar 2020

Dr. Thornton is an excellent doctor.

SHC Patient, Mar 2020

Lorna is really fantastic

SHC Patient, Mar 2020

I wanted to give Dr. Thorton a referral of a friend. But, I was disappointed that she is not taking new patients at this time although she advised me to ask again later. I like my new doctor very much and am thankful that I got into her practice when my other doctor retired early.

SHC Patient, Mar 2020

There were 2 negative issues after the visit regarding follow through with doctor. First, I asked her to change an order to "Stanford order" so I could get an ultrasound at Redwood City which is closer to my home. She said she would do it and then when I called to schedule it, RWC said it was NOT done so I had to send an email to request this be done, which is not something I should have had to do. Secondly, a medication was prescribed and I went to pick it up after my appointment, and after blood work and an X-ray were done (2 hours after appointment was finished) and no order was sent to pharmacy so I had to call the doctor's office to ask it be done from my pharmacy. The doctor was with a patient so I went home instead of waiting there for it to be resolved. Again, this was not my responsibility. This should have been done while I was still in the doctor's office. These are simple basic care needs that should be routinely handled appropriately and they were not. I have been to numerous internists in the Stanford system and this has NEVER happened with any of them. It is a huge disappointment that the patient has to contact the doctor's office TWICE after the office visit to get proper follow through.

SHC Patient, Feb 2020

I never felt rushed. I felt she took the time I needed for all my issues

SHC Patient, Jan 2020

Dr. Thornton is FANTASTIC. She gives me all her time and does not rush me out the door.

SHC Patient, Jan 2020

This was first time meeting my new primary care physician, Dr Lorna Thornton. She did my annual wellness physical and talked with me about my general health history. It was a great visit, and I feel very lucky to have her as my PCP.

SHC Patient, Jan 2020

Dr Thornton is a wonderful, thourough, and caring doctor whom I feel lucky to have for my care. Since I have been so happy with Dr Thornton, my wife has also switched doctors for her care.

SHC Patient, Jan 2020

I compare the experience to PAMF Palo Alto and Stanford exceeds at least for adults

SHC Patient, Jan 2020

Dr. Thornton was well prepare for this visit. She had thoroughly read my file.

SHC Patient, Nov 2019

Dr. Thornton is personable, has a casual yet professional and unhurried approach.

SHC Patient, Nov 2019

On this specific visit, I was particularly anxious about the treatment. I verbalized this and she respectfully acknowledged my anxiety and diligently tried to ensure my comfort by performing slowly, talking through everything to manage my expectations, checking in on me, and doing so with kindness and not judgment (e.g. dismissive of my feelings). With past providers, I've had very bad experiences for this specific treatment, and she was a comforting exception that day. I was extremely grateful and it heightened my respect for her as a compassionate professional.

SHC Patient, Nov 2019

Dr. Thornton was friendly professional and very thorough I liked the fact she did not appear rushed.

SHC Patient, May 2019

Dr. Thornton is an good care provider. I need to have my ears washed out and we discussed waiting until I feel better to have water placed in my ears b/c of the cough and cold I had been going through these past 5-6 weeks. At the end of the visit Dr. Thornton just walked out of the room to see another patient, I thought she was coming back and she did not, she was off to the next patient, all b/c of time constraints between patients. She did mention this to me but we really did not say good-bye.

SHC Patient, May 2019

She's always good.

SHC Patient, May 2019

Dr. Thornton is truly excellent - she really showed she cared and take time to really listen.

Dr. Thornton was very considerate of my situation, asked good investigative questions, and took the action I hoped would occur. She was knowledgeable, caring, and very professional. Her follow-up review of the x-rays was informative and reassuring. I was especially impressed with her desire to have a sports medicine Dr. see me and her assistance in arrangement an appointment with referral Dr. the next day.

SHC Patient, Dec 2018

she exceeded all expectations

SHC Patient, Nov 2018

Care provider is very warm, friendly, considerate, and open to listening. She makes you feel relax.

SHC Patient, Nov 2018

Lorna went out of her way to find Epipen for me, locating a Pharmacist that had one in stock and transferring my prescription there. This was a big relief after CVS told me all their pharmacies had stocked out over the last two months.

SHC Patient, Nov 2018

Dr. Thornton was exceptionally accommodating in squeezing me into what must have been her lunch hour because I had an urgent need for a special prescription for a conditin that appeared suddenly. She was extrordinarily understanding about my 12 minute tardiness and went out of her way to arrange for the medication to be dispensed as soon as possible. My regular Internist was off that day.

SHC Patient, Oct 2018

I do not like going to the doctor. I do not feel conventional American medicine is good for preventative medicine. Things like nutrition and exercise are not talked about our encouraged nearly enough. That being said Dr. Thornton was amazing. Although her healing practice may not align with how I want to heal she was accommodating and thoughtful of my beliefs. I truly appreciate her not dismissing my diet (plant based) or use of herbs (tea tree oil for fungus) and not pushing me to use medicines I have had bad experiences with (steroids for eczema). I'm very grateful to have found her as a doctor.

SHC Patient, Sep 2018

Very good, caring and thorough

SHC Patient, Sep 2018

I would recommend Dr Thornton if she could see patients without a4-month wait.

SHC Patient, Sep 2018

Dr. Thornton was great! Very kind and reviewed my chart before the visit.
