He really listens, discusses what is said, does not use idiotic phrases such as "that's good medical practice" as one of his colleagues who never listens does, and really hears and pays attention and will discuss possible alternatives. Dr Kevin Wallace is the greatest doctor I've ever known! He took the time after my initial visit to dig into my issues and then recommended a course of action that may have saved my life. I'm not sure the average doctor would have done what Dr Wallace did for me. He is fantastic, cares about his patients and delivers professional advice in a way that made me feel great -- even in hard circumstances.

I recently switched to Menlo Medical Clinic for my primary care (at the recommendation of a friend) because I was having a truly terrible experience with my previous PCP. My experience at Menlo Medical Clinic has been 100% better. I have met with Dr. Wallace 3 times now, and each he has done an excellent job of bringing his professional expertise to the room while also leaving space to listen to me as a patient. He is thorough and thoughtful in both assessing and addressing whatever issues I'm having. He gives clear information in ways I can understand. He also asks for follow-up from me as appropriate, which makes me feel that he cares if the treatment approach is actually working. It also makes me feel like it's okay to contact him if I'm continuing to have issues in spite of treatment. (This may seem basic, but I can assure you based on my past experiences, it is NOT.) He is respectful. He takes the amount of time needed with me. He makes referrals when appropriate and they are helpful. I feel that Dr. Wallace does a great job of allowing me to be a constructive partner in my health care plan. I feel that he has already helped me improve my health in a very short amount of time, and I believe that I am much more likely to have / am already having much more positive medical outcomes under his care than under the care of my previous PCP. My husband often attends appointments with me, especially because of my past negative experiences, and he also says the difference in quality of care is night and day. He is also deeply impressed and appreciative of Dr. Wallace and Menlo Medical Clinic. I cannot express my appreciation enough, nor can I rate Dr. Wallace and Menlo highly enough.

However, I also felt the doctor did his best to get all the necessary information, took the time to answer any questions I had, and made sure I was involved in all decisions about my care. This is my first time seeing this PCP, and I feel optimistic about our ability to work constructively together.

The doctor seems brilliant. I can see why people recommend him. I do think his bedside manner could use some improvement. He spends most of his time looking at his computer. He gives the impression that he is incredibly competent and really analyzing everything you say. He just doesn't make it clear if he cares very much. So I have no doubt I will receive good care, but he doesn't necessarily invite confidence. I want to give him more time because ultimately having a brilliant doctor who knows what he's doing might be more important than a warm fuzzy doctor who doesn't, but I do genuinely wish his bedside manner was better developed.

Knowledgeable and friendly doctor. He listens and responds to all questions, however mostly looks at the computer screen during conversation. On the plus side was able to pull lot of information from the system other doctors did not even see. On the downside, one feels like he is not listening or paying attention while he actually is.

I had the impression that he does not really believe that I am in pain and is not trying very hard to help. He spends most of the time looking at test results on a computer screen, then prescribing more tests. I do not question his competence, but the clinic and the processes seem set up to maximize the use and rentability of the test labs more than patient outcome.
