Orthopaedic Clinical Residency Program
Accelerate your professional development by participating in the Stanford Health Care Orthopaedic Physical Therapy Residency Program. Resident Publications
Residents will receive:
- Classroom and lab instruction covering all aspects of orthopaedic physical therapy
- Ongoing one-on-one clinical supervision, supportive learning, and mentoring while treating patients
- Mentor the incoming class of Residents utilizing the skills and knowledge you have gained while in residency, receive mentoring from the outgoing class as you start your journey.
- Training in evidence-based guidelines and advanced clinical practice
- Focused skill building on the examination, diagnosis, treatment, and clinical reasoning aspects of patient care
- Preparation for the Orthopedic Clinical Specialist examination
- Medical shadowing experience at our world class teaching hospital, including days shadowing multiple orthopedic surgeons (with different specialty areas) in clinic and in surgery
- Participation in Grand Rounds with multidisciplinary teams involved with orthopaedic patients
- Participation in treatment plans with elite Stanford University athletes at Arrillaga Sports Physical Therapy
- Observation of the multidisciplinary team approach within the Stanford Pain Management Department
Residency Program facts:
- Residency Program starts in September and ends in Octorber of the following year
- Residents will be employed by Stanford Health Care
