Palliative Care Expertise

The palliative care team supports the medical, social, and emotional needs of patients, their families, and caregivers. Through collaboration with a patient’s health care team, palliative care providers help with:

  • Difficult to manage symptoms
  • Advance care planning
  • Decisions about transitions in care
  • Education about illness and treatment options.

Palliative care:

  • Is appropriate at any stage of a serious illness such as cancer, heart disease, lung disease liver disease and dementia. 
  • Should be provided to patients undergoing curative or life-prolonging treatments.
  • Is available for any age group.
  • Uses a team-based approach to address your physical, social, psychological and spiritual needs.
