Chalazion and Stye Symptoms
Chalazion and Stye Symptoms
A stye is like a pimple on the inside or outside of your eyelid, often with pus in the middle. Symptoms can include:
- Redness
- Tenderness
- Feeling that something is in your eye
- Increased sensitivity to light
- Eyelid crusting
- Increased tear production
A chalazion feels harder and may not cause symptoms, often going away on its own. But you may also experience:
- Redness
- Tenderness
- Swelling
If a chalazion grows large enough, it can also harm your vision by pushing on your eye and distorting the cornea's shape (astigmatism).
Other conditions can cause similar symptoms, so please see one of our doctors for an accurate diagnosis.
