Treatment for Facial Volume Loss and “Double Chin”
Facial volume loss is caused partly by the breakdown of proteins such as collagen that provide structure to your skin. This change occurs as we age. Our youthful balance of fat changes – we lose it in some areas and gain it in others. Inherited genes appear to intensify the process.
Neck fullness, also called submental fullness or double chin, results when excess fat forms in bones, muscles, and tendons around the jaw and neck. This condition is often genetic.
Treatments for facial volume loss and neck fullness are designed to give you a younger appearance that still looks natural and balanced.
In the Stanford Health Care Dermatologic Surgery program, we use the latest injectable fillers to treat volume loss in your cheeks, temples, chin, jawline, and lips. Our treatments for double chin include liposuction plus new injectables made of a substance that breaks down fat. Learn more about injectable fillers.
