Conditions Treated by Fistula Repair
Fistula Repair Conditions Treated
We use fistula repair procedures to treat:
- Inflammatory bowel disease
- Complications of Crohn's disease
- Fistulas:
- Enterocutaneous: These fistulas are often a complication of surgery. When you have an enterocutaneous fistula, your body forms a passageway connecting your intestines to your surgery site and skin.
- Enteroenteric: Fistulas involving your large or small intestines are most common among Crohn's disease patients, especially fistulas near your anus (fistula ano).
- Enterovaginal: Some women experience fistulas that connect to their vagina.
- Enterovesicular: Fistulas that go to your bladder are also somewhat common among Crohn's disease patients.
