Stanford Health Care is among the most successful programs in the San Francisco Bay Area when it comes to helping those with hepatitis C access the treatments they need. For most people, this includes personalized combinations of the most promising new medications.

These new medications—a type of direct acting antiviral agents—prevent the hepatitis C virus (HCV) from replicating and allow your immune system to kill the virus. Direct acting antiviral agents are extremely effective in patients who take them. However, at $1,000 per pill, they are not covered by insurance.

Part of what makes our program special is that we have a team of staff experienced in working with various payers and specialty pharmacies to make the best treatments available to our patients quickly.
