About this Treatment: Hormone Therapy for Prostate Cancer
Types of Hormone Therapy
There are two primary approaches to depriving the body of male hormones. One is through surgical removal of the testicles; the other is through pills or injections aimed at either blocking production of male hormones or blocking the body’s ability to use the hormones. The pills are usually taken daily at home and the injections are given every 2 to 3 months in the clinic.
