Condtions Treated
Our Approach to Sclerotherapy
The doctors in the Stanford Health Care Dermatologic Surgery program not only have the expertise to help improve the health and appearance of your skin, they are leading the development of new technologies and techniques not yet available at other centers.
What We Offer You for Sclerotherapy
- Years of experience using sclerotherapy safely and effectively.
- Expertise using sclerotherapy to treat varicose veins and spider veins.
- Fast treatment with minimal pain and downtime.
- Treatment available in a comfortable, private, easy to reach setting.
What is Sclerotherapy?
Conditions Treated
We use sclerotherapy primarily to treat two conditions:
Varicose veins
These swollen blood vessels appear purple or red and twisted, usually on the legs.
Spider veins
Some blood vessels that look like spider webs are vascular lesions — conditions that include hemangiomas and port wine stains.
What to Expect from Sclerotherapy
The doctors in our clinics excel at the most advanced uses of sclerotherapy for varicose veins and spider veins.
Sclerotherapy typically causes blood vessels to fade over 6 to 8 weeks. You may need more than one treatment session — our recommendations will depend on:
- Your goals
- Number of veins
- Size of veins
- Location of veins
