Walter Park, MD, was a government major in college who thought he would expand his interest in global health by going to medical school. Even though he hated the smell of hospitals, the pain he saw people endure, particularly when they had a pancreatic disorder, compelled him to change direction. Now, as medical director of the Stanford Health Care Benign Pancreas Program, Dr. Park puts his clinical expertise and research to work to make life better for his patients.
