Dr. Wong is an excellent doctor and I feel fortunate to have her as my doctor. I'm not certain if Dr. Wong said Stanford Health Care would do something after the visit which is why I left those questions blank. I know Dr. Wong will call in a prescription and that I should make an appointment for my next visit.
She's the best. She has stabilized my long term (20 year) osteoporosis without using medication, but with advice on better living habits and nutrition. She is extremely polite, thorough, has a great bedside manner and is patient oriented. Of course, she is also extremely smart and up to date on the research.

A new process which had insurance denials managed by an “outside team†was extremely frustrating. This caused a 3 wk delay . I was starting to look for care elsewhere. But Dr wongs staff was able to intervene & I decided to stay.

The appointment was to review the latest test results, followed by next steps. There were complications in that both my parathyroid and thyroid glands had abnormalities. We discussed different approaches. I am a retired physician assistant and former critical care nurse, so a lot of the discussion did not require unpacking of test results. The newer tests, Dr. Wong asked if I understood. The parts where I did not, she explained. Dr. Wong and I discussed approaches to my thyroid after my giving the go ahead for parathyroid surgery, which is critical at this time. Should i have my thyroid removed during the parathyroidectomy? Should I have it irradiated? Should I take medication for the rest of my life? The complicating factor for me was, no matter the choice, I would have to take medications for the rest of my life! I love a good laugh, and I think that Dr. Wong saw this and was able to smile at the irony when presented with the irony. It was an unexpected, wonderful visit.

at each visit I am asked what my symptoms are and then usually told that they have nothing to do with my diagnosis and that nothing can be done about it. my care provider only seems bothered whether I am feeling tired or not. in addition to this I was not called regarding a recent biopsy result even though the website said the results were in and the nurse called about another test result. I mentioned the biopsy and was told that the care provider would call but she still didn't.

Doctor does not seem very personable. Been seeing her for years, mostly out of location convenience and insurance coverage. I feel that she never gives positive reinforcement nor reassurance. Does not make me feel good about myself.
Dr. Wong was outstanding
My doctor definitely shows concern for my situation, and it feels like she's part of my team. She does make decisions that I feel I should have input on and it usually takes me a few days to process that I do need to ask, making me feel like I need to "stand up for myself." When I call back to get some answers, she responds very quickly and takes the time to go over my questions.
Dr. Wong is excellent. Thorough, informed, explains clearly. I have the utmost confidence in her.
