Being my first pregnancy I have a lot of questions and my excitement is high. I have only received one ultrasound at this point and when I ask when I'll have my next one, I never receive a direct answer. I specifically asked if my next appointment would include an ultrasound and the answer was simply "no". There was no explanation of what my next appointment would entail or when my next ultrasound would be. Also, when I ask certain questions I feel like the doctor responds in a way that makes me feel stupid and naive.

Dr. Addey is very good at her job. In comparison to my private Dr. in Santa Monica who I had for over 15 years there is a difference in care. For example I would get spa robes at my old dr. office instead of paper and the room and KY jelly were heated to make the patients more comfortable. This among other things makes me miss my former ONGYN doctor.

Dr Adey, was very personable & compassionate. However she was quick to refer some problems off to yet another doctor. Upon seeing a different doctor they said my OB could have ordered a simple lab test instead of sending me away. It feels like Stanford places too much emphasis on referral business to monitize instead of provide comprehensive care. It's clear this is a measured and rewarded metric across the Stanford health system & is very disappointing. The process for understanding how to receive my standard prenatal testing was completely unclear & very confusing. If this had been my first baby I'd be totally lost as to what is available.

I'm not sure how to explain my experience. The doctor was definitely friendly, however, I did not feel confident after my appointment. I'm in the beginning stages of my first pregnancy, and had several questions and concerns. The answers from the doctor were just very general, just saying "oh nothing to worry about" or "there's nothing you can do", without any other explanation. I'm not the type of a person who just accepts blanket statements. I expect my provider to go a little more in detail, explaining why there is no concern for an issue that I bring up. Also, the appointment felt rushed. I understand that there are other patients, but I was supposed to be with the provider for 30 minutes, instead it was about 15, the other time was wasted on waiting. Again, I do want to point out that the doctor was very friendly and polite, but I would really appreciate if the provider could be more thorough next time. After all, I am trusting this person with one of the biggest "medical procedures" in my life thus far.

I appreciated this from a convenience and wait time perspective, but felt that some of the attention that would have been given otherwise may have been lost. the last two times I came in within the last 60 days, Dr. Salada was booked so I had to see the PA. this time when I made my yearly checkup appointment, they wanted me to be seen by the PA again. I told them I'd wait for an appointment with Dr. Salada. if I wanted to always be seen by a PA, I might as well have Kaiser. I've been wondering if I should change doctors if Dr. Salada has become too busy. I'd rather not.
