I am confident in the skills of the care provider. However, it seems that she feels there needs to be a justification for routine preventative tests. And, this concerns me. The reason they are preventive is so they don't become a health issue. Also, I have gone longer between routine [preventative] tests with this care provider than I ever have with any other doctor.

I have already recommended Dr. Chern to friends. I have a great deal of confidence in her understanding of my medical issues. She knows how important my health is to me and she very knowledgeable about the most appropriate treatments. She is helping me to try new approaches that are improving my test results. Dr. Chern asked permission to bring in a student, who examined me first and asked a lot of questions. They discussed information the student, Rebecca, gleaned from me and my most recent test results. Dr. Chern did further examination and asked different questions. Then she helped me formulate a plan of action which took into consideration my change in circumstances, with easy doable steps towards the goals we've set. Then I received instructions for my next labs.

there's not much more I can say, I've built a relationship of mutual respect and trust with Dr Schectman over the years and I had a very negative emotional reaction to his leaving to the jungle. He took quite some time to help me through the initial panic and disbelief so that we could then discuss who was the best fit to care for me in his absence- no one please just take me with you lol - but we agreed on Dr Chern who cared for me last year when I was sick for almost 6 weeks with an upper respiratory infection. I had seen her on one of the visits in December and she didn't scare me. yes. doctors scare me. I've seen Dr Chern twice now for my regular follow ups and medication reviews and I feel that Dr S must have spent some time preparing her for me. I'm a difficult patient... but they make me feel like a normal person and that I'm going to be ok. I don't know what I would do without them. I'm 40 years old and I've never had this much confidence in my care providers. I've never trusted doctors until Dr. S and now Dr. C.

Dr chern seemed to be in a rush and didn't seem interested at all in meeting my needs. she spoke really fast, typed fast, diagnosed me fast and on top of that she didn't go into detail too much about my diagnoses just about treating it. she said she was going to come back so I can get dressed because she did a pap, and never came back. I had other concerns but we didn't address them. over all it felt like I was with her for about 15 minutes. I'm am MA for Stanford and have floated to various primary care clinics and have never experienced a dr with such poor CI Care. I'm very disappointed.

Spent most of my time with a med student. Dr and student seemed fine, but looking back I would say that the doctor didn't directly ask me many questions and I wasn't sure if she'd even reviewed my records. I think she was talking to the med student. Dr Chern did check breathing, heart, etc and double-checked any recommendations the med student made. Brought my records from previous practice, but they weren't reviewed (not in the right format? Felt like I spent a lot of time repeating myself. Example: I was asked if I smoked 3 times by different staff, even though I'd written on the new patient form that I've never been a smoker. A lot of time was spent on the computer by the assistant and the med student, but they didn't seem to know the basic info that had already been entered into the system.
