Dr. Rishi Sawhney is the Medical Director & Chair of the Stanford Health Care ValleyCare Cancer program. His approach to patient care involves focusing on the whole person rather than their disease process alone. He strongly believes that the difference between care and caring is a small step, but one that makes a huge difference in the lives of his patients.
Dr. Sawhney has dedicated himself to building a community cancer program that provides high quality medicine with a personalized touch close to home. These efforts culminated in the development of a multidisciplinary, nationally accredited breast center of excellence.

The chemo center should provide headphones and or play soft music in background to help relax the patients during chemo infusion. It’s so hard to sit 3-4 hours for infusion and not able to hear music or look at beautiful scenery screens on big screen tv to relax the mind.

Video visits are ok for routine follow-up but I have not seen Dr Sawhney in about 2 years now! I think at some point I should have an in-person visit.
Dr Sawhney is a fantastic oncologist! He's been my doctor for over 10 years. He coordinated my treatment with all my doctors and cured me of cancer! He is not only a fantastic doctor but a very compassionate person.

Dr Sawhney is our oncologist and the one who helped us diagnosis my Pancreatic cancer and get us in to see Dr; Vesser in Palo Alto. My surgery took place on the last day before the we were all locked down for the Covid, We are very thankful for Dr Sawhney's diagnosis and help in getting the surgery. I am no doing well.

I appreciated him enough that I decided to choose Stanford over Sutter for my prostate cancer treatment. I believe that this says it all.
I provided something in the previous field. I felt that Dr. Sawhney was a bit rushed during my appointment and it would be helpful for me if it didn't feel as though he needed to move on to the next patient so quickly. I have a hard time pushing for all of my questions to be answered if I sense he needs to go.

I think the doctor is very competent. Once I met with him he was very great. Just took awhile to finally connect. My previous appointment was canceled since no one told me that I couldn't do an appointment out of the state. Then it took weeks to get on his books.
