Breast Cancer Program

Breast Reconstruction
At the Stanford Health Care Breast Reconstruction Clinic in Pleasanton, our surgeons use the most advanced technology to deliver natural-looking results. Endocrine Tumor Program

The multidisciplinary thoracic cancer team treats all types and stages of cancers and benign (noncancerous) conditions of the chest. Radiation therapy
Radiation therapy is a form of high energy x-ray which can destroy or prevent the spread of cancer. The goal is to target cancer while minimizing exposure to surrounding healthy cells.
Drug therapy
Drug therapy refers to several types of medications and cellular therapies that travel through the bloodstream to attack cancer cells anywhere in the body. You can receive drug therapy orally as a pill or intravenously through an injection or infusion into a vein.
Drug therapy can treat cancer at any stage anywhere in the body by destroying the cells or preventing them from multiplying.

These surgeons specialize in treating cancer through mastectomy and breast-conserving surgeries. Surgical oncologists perform biopsies (taking tiny tissue samples) to test for cancer. A genetics counselor is a health care professional who assesses hereditary—that is, inherited—risk of cancer. Our genetic counselors will give you information about current genetic testing options as well as information about how genetics may contribute to cancer.

Occupational therapy helps you regain some of the everyday skills or strength that you may have lost over the course of the treatment.
