Care and Treatment of Valvular Heart Disease

Your Care Team

Stanford Health Care uses a multidisciplinary team approach in diagnosing and treating valvular heart disease. Our team includes cardiac surgeons, cardiologists and clinical nurse coordinators with specialized training and experience with valvular disease and surgery.

To assist you and your familiy, our physicians and clinical coordinators are available to provide you with the most advanced care. Our physicians, nurses, and support staff value the trust you place in us by entrusting us with your care.

Clinical Trials

Clinical trials are research studies that evaluate a new medical approach, device, drug, or other treatment. As a Stanford Health Care patient, you may have access to the latest, advanced clinical trials.

Open trials refer to studies currently accepting participants. Closed trials are not currently enrolling, but may open in the future.

If you need to reschedule your appointment, please call us at least one week prior to your visit.

PREPARE FOR YOUR APPOINTMENT

  • Complete and return the food frequency questionnaire 7-10 days before your visit.
  • Our dietitian will have a full analysis ready at your visit.
  • Mail or bring any medical or personal records related to previous hospitalizations, cardiovascular risk factor values and/or treatment.
  • Bring your completed cardiovascular clinic patient questionnaire.
  • Bring results from prior lab tests, if requested.
  • Plan on being at the clinic for approximately one to two hours.
