Lyme Disease
What is Lyme disease?
Lyme disease is a bacterial infection spread by ticks. You can get it if you're bitten by an infected tick. But most people who've had a tick bite don't get Lyme disease.
If you don't treat Lyme disease, it can lead to problems with your skin, joints, heart, and nervous system.
Lyme disease is common in the United States. It can also be found in Canada, Europe, and Asia.
Arthritis and Joint Replacement Service
The Arthritis and Joint Replacement Service offers services to evaluate patients that require joint replacements caused by the break down of the joint from Lyme disease. We do not treat the actual Lyme disease.
Lyme Disease
Lyme disease is a bacterial infection (bacterium Borrelia burgdorferi), transmitted through an infected tick bite. Symptoms include skin rash called erythema migrans.
