Risk Factors for Lymphoma

The causes of lymphoma aren’t known. A risk factor is anything that increases the chance that you will get a condition.

Risk factors for lymphoma include:

  • A weakened immune system (called a compromised immune system) because of another condition or illness, or because of treatments that suppress the immune system
  • Previous radiation therapy
  • Previous lymphoma
