Risks Factors for Non-Melanoma Skin Cancer
Some risk factors for non-melanoma skin cancer can be controlled, and others can’t. They include:
- Fair skin color and eye color. People with eyes that are blue, green, hazel or gray fall into this group. So do people with light hair color, like blondes and redheads.
- History of sunburns
- Excessive exposure to the sun, living in a sunny climate.
- History of precancerous lesions
- Weakened immune system
- Radiation exposure
