Symptoms of Eye Floaters and Flashes
Floaters and flashes may become more noticeable against a simple background, like a wall or the sky. They can appear in a variety of tiny shapes:
- Dots
- Circles
- Lines
- Clouds
- Cobwebs
Floaters and flashes are generally harmless, but there are times when you should call us right away:
- Sudden increase in the number and size of floaters
- Appearance of a shadow or dark curtain in your side (peripheral) vision
- Trouble seeing
- Seeing flashing lights in your vision
Other conditions can cause these warning signs, too. Our doctors can provide an accurate diagnosis.
