Esophagus Reconstruction (Stretta Procedure)
What Is the Stretta Procedure?
Esophagus reconstruction with the Stretta® device uses low-frequency heat to reshape the ring of muscles in your lower esophagus (lower esophageal sphincter). This helps restore your natural reflux barrier. Experts at Stanford were among the first in the country performing this procedure.
One of the first endoscopic procedures for treating GERD, esophagus reconstruction using the Stretta® device works by delivering controlled pulses of low-frequency energy to augment lower esophageal sphincter function.
The Society of American Gastrointestinal and Endoscopic Surgeons (SAGES) gives this treatment its highest recommendation as a minimally invasive treatment for GERD.
Esophagus Reconstruction (Stretta Procedure)
Our Esophagus Center offers esophagus reconstruction using the Stretta® ablation device, a safe, effective alternative to anti-reflux surgery.
