What Is Pulsed Dye Laser Treatment?
Types of Pulsed Dye Laser Treatments
Pulsed dye laser treatments use a combination of short pulses of bright light, which is absorbed by abnormal blood vessels, and turns into heat that destroys these vessels.
Long pulsed lasers are systems that deliver a longer pulse of light.
Intense pulse light or IPL systems (sometimes called a photo facial) also use light and heat but are not actually lasers
What to Expect from Pulsed Dye Laser Treatment
Pulsed dye laser treatment can be effective for a variety of skin conditions, including rosacea, facial redness, port wine stains, hemangiomas, hypertrophic scars, keloids, and telangiectasis.
The doctors on our Dermatologic Surgery team are experts in using the most advanced pulsed dye laser technology. We have helped refine the most sophisticated procedures to make them as effective and safe as possible for our patients.
Most patients see results immediately, and the treatment is safe for all skin types.
You may feel a warming or tingling sensation during treatment. After treatment, the feeling may be like a mild, temporary sunburn.
