Stanford Health Care’s Nuclear Medicine and Molecular Imaging division offers theragnostic care, a method of diagnostic imaging that can precisely locate cancer and also use trace amounts of radiation to deliver targeted treatments. Our specially trained radiologists and multidisciplinary team of experts are committed to developing a care plan personalized to your unique needs. What is Theragnostic Care?

Techniques Used in Theragnostic Care

Following initial diagnosis, the phases of theragnostic care can repeat in cycles:

  • To start, you would see your nuclear medicine specialist for treatment.
  • Then you would return to your oncologist, endocrinologist, or other specialist leading your care plan. Your doctors are also monitoring progress and checking for potential side effects of theragnostic care.
  • You might go back to the nuclear medicine specialist for another treatment cycle.
  • This pattern repeats as long as is necessary and effective.
