I like Dr. Leong. Really liked him a lot. I had my doubts about the Pain Management department. Three years ago, Dr.Mesias, Stanford Senior Care, sent me to Pain Management to try to better manage migraine I’ve had since age 5. A Fellow & his boss suggested an inpatient stay. I told them I had an Inpatient stay, Headache Clonic, UCSF. After 48 hrs at Mt Zion, I was sent over to Parnassus with excruciating pain & left leg weakness. CT showed zilch. Under Peter Goadsby, the process was attempted again a year later. Same result. I remember having a pic line which they pulled and released me. I had been screaming in pain 24 hours after no sumatriptan.
So I told the Stanford Pain Management doc to look up my record at UCSF and tell me what they would do. That was the end of my association with Pain Management at Stanford until 7/8 with Dr. Leong.

Dr. Leong was incredible. The trigger shots went well - at first they said my order did not have drug (cause I'm allergic to the normal drug). Dr. Leong explained the other drug he was using I didn't feel any pain at all during the procedure and slept great.

I have no clue whether Dr. Leong is a good Dr. or not. He spent barely anytime with me. When he first walked in the room he interrupted a tearful discussion without even noticing. That started things off wrong - He talked loud and overly confident and condescending. Then leaves to talk over things with the nurse! But I made the appt with Dr.! A scary appt at that.
