Biography
Joshua Mooney, MD, MS, is a board certified pulmonologist and critical care physician who specializes in the care of interstitial lung disease and lung transplant patients. He performs health services and outcomes research focused on understanding and improving the lives and care of patients with advanced lung disease and is actively involved in clinical trials to improve outcomes in interstitial lung disease. He is the Associate Medical Director for Lung and Heart/Lung Transplantation at Stanford and director of the Pulmonary Fibrosis Foundation Care Center at Stanford.

I had a good discussion with Dr Mooney about both my test results and the larger picture around my condition. I am happy I got to speak to Dr Mooney today.
Caring, took time to explain everything
Dr. Mooney was a life saver. He accepted me onto the lung transplant when others said I was too old and too sick. Based on the advocates from Kaiser (Dr. Im and Dr. Lee), he accepted my challenging case. I am happy to say I am at a rehab unit with excellent lungs and doing very well. Planning transition to home on May 30.
Doctors and nurses continue to perform beyond expectations. Today’s visit included so many examples of Stanford living up to and exceeding our expectations. New and existing staff showed they had

Doctor Mooney should have been better prepared and have read my personal note about having to go to the ER after my pulmonary function test, and those results should have been available for his review and evaluation via-a-vis previous tests/current conditions. Otherwise doctor is engaged, attentive and caring

Patricia who checked me in and took my vitals, Kenneth who did my PFT’s, nurse Kelly explained which numbers on the PFT were most important and why, and Dr. Mooney addressed my questions about Evusheld. I always want the worst case scenario along with what I can expect and the best case. Sometimes I don't feel like I'm getting the full picture. And that doesn't go for all drs. I see including this last one.
Felt dismissed; didn't take my concerns seriously; said my symptoms were age related. Mentioned antibiotic but never got an Rx. Usually this happens - too busy & pt. has to follow up.

Dr. is knowledgeable, smart, but seems overworked, although when he really studies your medical chart, he looks with new eyes to find proper treatment, reevaluate your diagnosis, etc. That kind of diligent review is worth the wait.
