Biography
Alexander C. Perino, MD is a cardiac electrophysiologist at Stanford Health Care whose primary focus is providing procedural care for patients with heart rhythm disorders. He performs a wide range of ablation and cardiac device implantation procedures, utilizing cutting-edge techniques and technologies to deliver high-quality, patient-centered care.
Dr. Perino serves as the Director of the Electrophysiology Laboratory at Stanford Health Care, where he leads efforts to enhance procedural quality, safety, and patient outcomes across the electrophysiology program. He is also the principal investigator for numerous clinical trials, working to ensure that patients have the opportunity to participate in research and contribute to scientific advancement—without compromising the quality of their care.
In addition, Dr. Perino is the Medical Informatics Director for the Division of Cardiovascular Medicine at Stanford Health Care. In this role, he oversees initiatives aimed at improving the quality and safety of cardiovascular care, while optimizing the electronic health record to better support patients and clinicians alike.

Doctor Alexander Perino was excellent. He provided me all the information I needed about a recent test I had, took his time to explain the results and what they meant and provide me with a computer printout of the test for my inspection.
A very charming doctor, knowledgeable and can understand how I feel about my health concerns . Talking to him and listening to his explanation has given me some relief and some reassurance.
Dr. Perino listens very well. He also mentioned that I can call him Alex. I appreciated this very much as this shows that he treats me as an equal unlike the old previous times when doctors considered themselves somehow above the rest of us.
