Muscular Dystrophy Diagnosis
How is muscular dystrophy diagnosed?
Your doctor will do a physical exam and ask questions about your family's health history. Blood tests and genetic tests are most often used to make the diagnosis. A muscle biopsy or a test to see how the muscles respond to stimulation might also be done. But these tests are less common.
Clinical Trials
Clinical trials are research studies that evaluate a new medical approach, device, drug, or other treatment. As a Stanford Health Care patient, you may have access to the latest, advanced clinical trials.
Open trials refer to studies currently accepting participants. Closed trials are not currently enrolling, but may open in the future.
