Eye Strain
What Is Eye Strain?
Eye strain is when your eyes feel tired from overuse. It is sometimes called digital eye strain or computer vision syndrome because of its connection to staring at electronic screens, a major cause.
Eye strain is a sensation most of us have experienced in our lives and is usually reversible. While the condition is not typically urgent, we encourage you to see us for an eye exam and for tips on getting relief.
Stanford Eye Strain Expertise
Our doctors practice in the heart of Silicon Valley, so they frequently see patients with eyestrain and have a lot of experience caring for it. They take the time to really listen to you, to dig a little deeper and find out what is going on.
We also have a full range of other services you might need. If you experience headaches (a common symptom) that turn out to be unrelated to eye strain, we work closely with colleagues offering other expertise. Learn more about Stanford's Headache Clinic.
Our goal is to make your life and work more comfortable and more efficient. Learn more about our Byers Eye Institute.
Comprehensive Ophthalmology and Optometry
Our ophthalmologists and optometrists work closely together to form a well-coordinated eye care team that you can count on for your healthy eye care needs.
