Lung Disease and Antibody Levels Contribute to Long COVID, Stanford Researchers Find
People recovering from COVID-19 with a history of lung disease, including asthma or chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, or who had lower levels of a particular antibody in the first week of diagnosis, took longer than their peers to experience a complete resolution of their symptoms, according to a Stanford Medicine study. The findings may help doctors predict who is likely to develop long COVID, as well as guide future vaccine development.
