Care and Treatment at Liver Disease Outreach Clinics
Our Programs and Services
We are proud to be one of the few programs in Northern California offering comprehensive liver disease care to out-of-area patients. Outreach clinics provide nearly the same level of care available at Stanford's Palo Alto campus. The only time you need to come see us in Palo Alto is when you need highly specialized procedures or surgery, such as a liver transplant.
Specialties available at outreach clinics include:
- Hepatology
- Transplant Hepatology
- Liver (Hepatobiliary) Surgery
- Liver Cancer (Oncology)
- Interventional radiology
Services available at outreach clinics include:
- Screenings and tests: From liver function testing to advanced imaging tests, we perform nearly any test you may need. Learn more about liver disease testing.
- Preventive care: Prevention helps you keep your liver as healthy as possible so you can avoid liver disease or the complications of liver disease.
- Treatments: We specialize in optimizing therapies to help you live the best possible quality of life – even if you have chronic liver disease (cirrhosis). Your treatment may include new medications, such as the ones we use for hepatitis B treatment.
- Pre-procedure testing: If you need surgery, you can have all of your pre-procedure testing, including blood work and imaging done at an outreach clinic.
- Liver transplant evaluation and care: If you need a liver transplant, you receive evaluations, testing and pre- and post-transplant care in our outreach clinics. The only time you need to come to Stanford is for your transplant procedure.
