Just ask any of the more than 250 Stanford Health Care Tri-Valley volunteers if they enjoy their work. For more than 60 years, these caring men and women have unselfishly given their time and talent to help patients and visitors at Stanford Health Care Tri-Valley medical facilities.
Being a volunteer requires a commitment, but Stanford Health Care Tri-Valley offers a variety of positions that are sure to fit your schedule. Stanford Health Care Tri-Valley volunteers are:
- Compassionate
- Communicative
- Committed
- Minimum 6-month commitment and 100 hours of service.
- At least 16 years of age

Stanford Health Care Tri-Valley volunteers are involved in a variety of activities throughout the health system including: visiting patients through the Ambassador program, escorting wheelchair patients, delivering flowers, volunteering in the Gift Shop, directing visitors at our information desks, working in our outpatient surgery center and emergency services, transporting lab specimens and helping staff members in different departments throughout the hospital. You will also find volunteers visiting with patients in our Cancer Center.
We make every attempt to match a volunteer's interest and skills to specific assignments keeping in mind the greatest needs of the organization and how we can best support the patient experience. Volunteers do not shadow, observe or provide clinical services (intern/externship), or participate in research positions.
