Endoscopic Procedures
How Endoscopy Works
Advanced preparation
One or two days before your appointment, you will receive a confirmation call from an endoscopy nurse.
The nurse will remind you to bring your medication list on your procedure day and ask you questions about your medical history and care needs including whether an interpreter will be needed. The nurse will be able to answer questions you may have about the prep your MD gave you.
Since you may be receiving sedation for your procedure, you will need to have someone available to drive you home. If it is necessary that you take a cab, Outreach, or the bus you must also have an adult accompany you. Please do not make any other medical appointments on the day of your endoscopy procedure.
