The Telephone Consumer Protection Act (TCPA) is a federal law enacted in 1991 in the United States to regulate telemarketing calls, auto-dialed calls, prerecorded calls, text messages, and unsolicited faxes. The primary goal of the TCPA is to protect consumers from unwanted communications and invasions of privacy.
Stanford Health Care’s Billing Consent form provides patients with an overview of our billing procedures, gives our billing details for further questions, and clarifies our communication methods. Signing the Billing Consent form allows you to receive billing reminders via text or call on your mobile device, whether manually or using an auto-dialer system. You can provide Billing Consent during registration, through MyHealth, or verbally. Patients can revoke consent anytime.
